Arno Carstens
Arno Carstens is one of South Africa’s most revered vocalists. He performed for 10 years as the lead singer of the celebrated rock band: The Springbok Nude Girls. He has been working as a solo artist for the last three years.
During his career as the lead singer of The Springbok Nude Girls and subsequently as a solo artist, Arno Carstens has released 10 albums, achieved 4 times platinum in CD sales, had 9 number 1 hits singles, won 4 South African Music Awards (all in the Rock category), toured internationally 8 times and shared the stage with the likes of INXS, The Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, The Cult, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, R.E.M. and most recently Metallica.
He is undoubtably one of the busiest live artists in our country and his years of experience have given him a supreme self confidence and ability to communicate his music via his live performances. Working with South Africa’s finest musicians: Albert Frost & Brendan Jury, allows for one of the most professional musical deliveries in the business.
“If anyone deserves the status of ‘The Godfather of SA Rock’ it’s Arno Carstens”
GQ, Miles Keylock, September 2005
Albert Frost is arguably the finest blues guitarist in South Africa and has performed with every major artist on every key platform in our country. Alongside his booming solo career, Albert collaborated with Arno in the making of both Arno’s solo albums, on lyrics and in defining the essence of how the album sounds. He brings a raw quality to the music and his extended blues background gives a delicious flavour to the rock sound of Arno Carstens.
The “unplugged” show put together by these two artists is quite imply the best live performance I have ever witnessed. The epic nature of the music produced by only two acoustic guitars and two voices borders on the incredible! I actually prefer it to the full rock show in that it provides a better vehicle to showcase Arno and Albert’s more “subtle” skills

“Forget Chris Martin from Coldplay. When it comes to combining style and sex appeal with a unique voice and genius songwriting skills, Arno Carstens is your man.”
Pulse Magazine, CD Reviews, September 2005
“Arno was one of those lead singers. You know the ones? The ones that float even if you shoot them full of heroin and turn their band into wax dummies. Once the king Nude Girl, he’s back, fully clothed and mightier than ever.”
In London Magazine, Gordon Glyn-Jones, September 2005

It was not to be. This months release The Hello Goodbye Boys has friends and foe alike sitting up and taking notice”
SL Magazine, Craig Canavan, September 2005
“As always, Carstens lives up to expectations and gives his fans a cracker of an album which should have fans fighting, scratching, pinching, pushing and biting to get their hands on a copy of the album.”
