Arno Carstens begin sy loopbaan as hoofsanger in die rock groep, The Springbok Nude Girls. Sedert 2003 werk hy as solo kunstenaar. Hierdie sanger-liedjieskrywer het reeds nege albums vrygestel waarvan 4 platinum status bereik het. Hy wen vyf SAMA toekennings en deel die verhoog met groot name soos INXS, The Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, The Cult, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, R.E.M., Metallica en Ronan Keating. In Junie 2007 word hy genooi om deel te neem aan die Isle of Wight fees in Brittanje en twee weke later speel hy in die voorprogram vir die The Rolling Stones in Spanje.
Arno woon sedert die begin van 2009 in Londen en werk tans aan sy 3de solo album. Another Universe, Arno se eerste solo album is in September 2003 vrygestel en het sedertdien die grootste Suid-Afrikaanse Engelse rock album verkoper in hierdie millennium geword. Die platinum album we n ook ‘n SAMA toekenning in 2004 vir beste rock album.
Arno se tweede solo album, The Hello Goodbye Boys, word in 2005 vrygestel. Weereens gaan die album goud en wen ‘n SAMA toekenning in 2006. Die album stel Arno se unieke stem ten toon asook sy kreatiewe vernuf as dit kom by skryf van musiek
Saam met Arno op die verhoog is die fenominale Albert Frost. Frost het in ‘n relatiewe kort tydperk legendariese status bereik onder mede-musikante. Hy is onlangs deur “Stage Magazine” aangewys as die beste Blueskitaarspeler in Suid Afrika. Saam weef die twee met stemme en kitaarspel ‘n ongelooflike show vol fyn nuansering.

Arno Carstens began his career as the lead singer of the cult rock band: The Springbok Nude Girls. He has been working as a solo artist since 2003.
During his career as the lead singer of The Springbok Nude Girls and subsequently as a solo artist, this 4 x platinum singer songwriter has released 9 studio albums, had 13 top ten singles, won 5 South African Music Awards and shared the stage with the likes of INXS, The Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, The Cult, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring, R.E.M., Metallica and Ronan Keating.
In June 2007 he was invited to play at the Isle of Wight Festival in the UK and two weeks later he played as the main support act for The Rolling Stones in Spain.
Arno is currently based in London. He has been living in the UK since early 2008 where he is working on his 3rd solo album with multi-talented British producers Youth (The Verve’s Urban Hymns) and Jim Duguid (Paulo Nutini’s These Streets). He has also been performing regularly in the UK, including support for Celine Dion during her 5 date tour of the UK, Paul Weller, The Police in Germany and London as well as Starsailor, Suzanne Vega and Meatloaf. During the UK summer of 2008, he performed at all the major festivals, including Isle of Wight, Glastonbury, T in The Park, Oxygen and both the V Festivals.
Another Universe, Arno’s first solo album, was released in September 2003 and as one of the most anticipated solo projects in SA music history, did not disappoint, becoming the biggest selling South African English rock album this side of the millennium. The platinum selling album won a SAMA Award for Best Rock Album in 2004.
Arno’s 2nd solo album, The Hello Goodbye Boys was released in September 2005. It’s a powerful record, defined very clearly by Arno’s unique voice and his creative ability when it comes to writing music. Produced by well known South African studio maestro Brian O’ Shea (Seether), The Hello Goodbye Boys went gold and won a SAMA award in 2006.
His 3rd solo album will be released in 2009.
