Danièle Pascal
French born Danièle Pascal enjoys a brilliant career with equal success in the fields of music, theatre, concerts and recording. After graduation from the conservatoire d'art dramatique in Toulon- France with first prize in acting, she ventured to Canada. Since then her career has taken her across the world and her experience embraces everything form serious drama (attaining the Canadian best actors award in 1977) to short films, documentaries and commercials.
Danièle is and has been since her arrival in South Africa, an influential force on the artistic circuit. Pascal is an artist who defies classification. The musical play Edith was an ambitious project, an evocative tribute to the songs of the legendary diva of the night , Edith Piaf.
Not that Pascal has confined herself to bringing alive past eras, she also performed the songs of Marianne Faithfull in the play "Fallen Angel" and many productions on Leonard Cohen and Jacques Brel, while she continues to perform the songs of Edith Piaf in her inimitable way in sell-out one-woman shows.
