Elzabé Zietsman is known as an artist that is forever evolving and re-inventing herself. Her shows has become legendary as carefully crafted and deeply thought through pieces of musical theatre.

In “Small Change” she collaborated with award-winning director Wikus du Toit to examines how history, sciences and art are closely interconnected on every level of our lives. “Kaalgestroop” with Janine Neethling on piano, was an amazing journey of self-discovery and “stripping of layers” untill the artist stood “bare and naked” with only the truth between herself and the audience.

“Cabaret” is a compilation of all her favourite songs, as well as songs that are not often heard. This is Elsabe alone on stage and the power of this show lies in its incredible intimacy. There is no bells or whistles to divert the attention. Just the performer and her skills. This is Cabaret like it used to be in a grander time, performed by one of the grand dames of cabaret…

Elzabé Zietsman's prolific career has seen her on stage, television, in cabaret and film productions. She has performed all over the country and is widely known to audiences for her starring role in M-Net's popular soap, Egoli. In the mid-90's during a run of her shows in Windhoek, she was spotted by a musical director who urged her to apply for the title role of Evita for a summer festival in Germany. Elzabé performed Evita in 1996 in German and was invited back in 1997 to perform the role of Velma in Chicago and in 2000 the narrator in Cabaret, all in German. She was allocated solo cabaret shows at the festival, which proved extremely popular with German audiences. In 1998 she performed Brecht for the Goethe Institute who invited her to Berlin in 1999 to further her studies in German.

Elzabé was directed by David Kramer in Jol and Janice Honeyman in True Confusions. She played Wallice Simpson in Pieter -Toerien's Her Royal Highness and worked with Casper de Vries in Ziets & de Vries, which took the country by storm in 1990. In 2000 Elzabé and Amanda Strydom performed the sell-out, Strydom & Zietsman in Alphabetical Order. In addition to her numerous one-woman shows, she has starred in Darrel Roodt's film, The Stick and the internationally released film, River of Death. In 2000, she played the lead in the highly acclaimed Deon Opperman musical, Vere.

Elzabé recorded her debut CD, "XIII" in 1999 and toured with her show by the same name the following year. She has performed with many highly respected South African artists and regularly performs her cabaret shows for corporate functions.

If there is one thing that you can say about Elzabé Zietsman, it is that she lives a full life. Deon Opperman is a well-known playwright and he himself lives life to the fullest. He has succeeded in combining his experience with that of Elzabé and brings to life an amazing journey in Kaalgestroop . Janine Neethling is the music director and pianist.

IN GLASs tells the story of Meredith, a lonely, destructive woman in her forties. She is obsessed with beauty and eternal youth, creating a comical, and tragic figure. She is at war with her life and mostly with the mirror. Elzabe rates this as one of her all time favourite shows to perform - as well as most challenging - what would you expect with a script written by Nataniel!!

When you visit Zietsies , Elzabé Zietsman's restaurant in Johannesburg , you will more than likely see her running about wearing her personalised apron, with the words Actress, Songstress, Chefstress embroidered on it by her sister, Retha. There wasn't enough space left to add Waitress!

A truer word has never been spoken about Elzabé. Forever trying to bridge her culinary and musical interests, she has now decided to recreate the dinner show. Making not only good food, but by including a sensational show to the menu, the audience is lapping it up!
